Job description

Ready to drive sustainability at a strategic level?

At FincoEnergies, we’re not just navigating the energy transition, we’re shaping it. We’re currently looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Partnerships Manager to drive our commercial growth in the voluntary carbon market.

With our unique blend of sustainable biofuels, innovative decarbonisation services, and digital tools, we empower companies to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and achieve their net-zero goals. Our brand GoodShipping is a frontrunner in carbon insetting, enabling cargo owners to decarbonise their supply chains by actively contributing to sustainable transport solutions.

Join our growing and ambitious Carbon Management division, where we work with leading customers to reduce their transport-related emissions. You’ll primarily be based in Amsterdam, where the division operates, with regular visits to our head office in Rotterdam.

This is your opportunity to shape commercial strategy, unlock new markets, and make a direct impact in a purpose-driven and fast-evolving environment.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Partnerships Manager

As a Senior Partnerships Manager in the Carbon Management Division, you are at the forefront of scaling our impact. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you work closely with the broader commercial management team to set the strategic direction and execute on commercial goals.

You will:

  • Identify where to play and how to win through market insights, customer segmentation and competitor analysis;

  • Develop and articulate clear value propositions that resonate with partners across logistics, transport, and global supply chains;

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline by acquiring new clients via inbound and outbound channels, events, and personal networks;

  • Engage potential clients with a consultative and adaptable sales approach, guiding them to commit to ambitious insetting targets;

  • Be the first point of contact for new clients, shaping initial relationships and ensuring a strong handover to commercial colleagues;

  • Represent FincoEnergies as a trusted advisor and industry advocate in dialogues about decarbonisation and carbon market innovation;

  • Develop tactical sales plans aligned with divisional targets and broader business strategy;

  • Contribute to crafting winning bids and proposals that drive commercial success;

  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve go-to-market strategies and client journeys.

Your clients typically operate in or rely heavily on international transport and logistics; from freight carriers and logistics providers to global consumer brands. Your ability to connect with these stakeholders and translate their sustainability goals into actionable insetting strategies is key.

Your Talents

You combine commercial drive with an intrinsic motivation to contribute to a more sustainable future. You are a skilled communicator, a strategic thinker, and an energizing relationship builder who thrives in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment.

You are:

  • Extroverted and comfortable in both boardrooms and networking events;

  • Proactive and opportunity-focused; you don't wait, you act;

  • Straightforward: clear, honest, and confident in your communication;

  • Socially skilled: able to adjust tone and message based on your audience;

  • A team player: you collaborate across departments and hand off clients smoothly;

  • Resilient and tenacious: patient and determined in long, consultative sales cycles;

  • Strategically commercial; you think in value chains and market positions;

  • Sustainability-minded: pragmatic and solutions-oriented toward climate impact.

As a Front Runner you bring

  • Master/Bachelor's acting & thinking level, preferably with a degree in business administration, sustainability or a related field;

  • 10–15 years of experience in commercial roles such as Business Development Manager, Strategic Advisor, or equivalent;

  • Experience working with complex B2B propositions and C-level stakeholders;

  • Proven success in sustainability-driven sales, especially within carbon insetting or renewable energy;

  • Experience with (voluntary) carbon markets and insetting methodologies;

  • Familiarity with digital platforms and innovations that support net-zero transitions;

  • Ability to translate sustainability targets into tangible, commercial offerings;

  • Fluency in English is required, fluency in Dutch is a strong plus.

    We prefer candidates who do not require visa sponsorship.

Our promise to you

  • A strong salary based on experience & competencies and attractive yearly bonus potential;

  • 8% holiday allowance;

  • A collective pension plan with two-thirds covered by FincoEnergies;

  • A yearly budget of € 900,- gross for your well-being and development;

  • An annual training budget of € 2000,- gross to support your professional development;

  • 25 vacation days (based on full-time employment);

  • Flexible & remote work (>60% in the office);

  • Entrepreneurial and sustainable environment providing growth and development opportunities;

  • Free daily fresh-made lunch at our offices;

  • A new Laptop and phone;

  • An international and energetic workplace in our new and entirely sustainably designed office in Rotterdam;

  • Great internal events that blow you away.
